The Houston Radar PX150 is a next-generation, high-fidelity 60 GHz tracking radar designed for complex traffic monitoring, combining precision, multi-lane tracking, and optional HD video verification. It offers advanced features like wrong-way detection and cloud connectivity, built for all-weather performance.

High-Fidelity Traffic Detection Without Disruption

Broken loop detectors, lane closures, and unreliable detection in tough weather drive up costs and limit safety programs. The Houston Radar® PX150™ brings high-fidelity vehicle detection to intersections, ramps, and arterials—without cutting pavement or disrupting traffic. Built on a wide 100° field-of-view tracking radar, PX150™ tracks up to 256 vehicles simultaneously, delivering real-time, per-vehicle insights for operations and safety.

At signalized intersections, agencies can configure flexible detection zones for traditional stop-bar detection and advanced applications.

For small to medium intersections, PX150™ supports a “catty-corner” layout that can cover a four-way intersection with just two sensors—reducing hardware and
installation complexity where designs often require more devices.

An integrated camera provides quick onsite or remote visual verification to finetune
zones and speed up commissioning.

On highways, the same zone logic enables ramp metering and queue detection with
accurate presence and approach data to help balance mainline flow and ramp
demand.

PX150™ also supports safety initiatives such as wrong-way detection by identifying
vehicles traveling against the expected direction for faster alerts and response.

Designed for real-world deployments, PX150™ is compact, lightweight, and low power, with dependable performance in rain, fog, dust, sun, and shadows. Built-in Ethernet, Serial, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and 4G plus onboard storage and event-triggered video uploads to our Tetryon™ cloud help simplify integration and reduce system costs.

Advanced Technology Integration: Utilizes a blend of MIMO, FMCW, and Doppler technologies to deliver accurate measurements of range, azimuth, and speed for each vehicle up to a maximum of 256 targets simultaneously.
Traffic Cabinet Interfaces: Offers two cabinet interface options: (1) Loop Replacement Card or (2) SDLC interface.
All-Weather Performance: Reliable operation in various weather conditions. Not affected by dust, fog, sun, shadows.
Customizable Detection Zones: Supports 64 userdefined zones for queue detection & stop bar.
Detection Alerts: Robust detection with pre & post trigger video clips.
Detailed Traffic Insights: Provides real-time, per-vehicle, per-lane data, including lanespecific vehicle counts, categorization by speed, and speed statistics (average & 85th percentile). Provides turning movement counts.
User-Friendly Software: Features a companion Windows program with an intuitive GUI for easy setup and moniting, alongside an Android app for convenient field installation and maintenance.
Effortless Installation: Includes an electronic accelerometer for tilt and level adjustments, and a built-in HD video camera for easy setup and remote traffic observation.
